all i need is just SMILE!!

so, early in the morning yesterday i had to go to Gimpo airport to meet the professor from hotel&tourism department. we were going to meet a group of staff from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Skudai. She said they wanted to make a collaborations with each other to send SMU students to do internship in Johor Bahru.

it started great in the morning. i managed to get a cab at 6.30am, then the bus to the airport at 7.30am. The ride was two and a half hours. but here is where i made a mistake.. apparently the bus doesn't just stop at Gimpo, but he also went straight to Incheon airport. I missed the stop at Gimpo, and end up being in Incheon!!

I was worried we were going to be late for the meeting. so i told my professor to meet me in Seoul instead, where the meeting was.

Thankfully the express train was faster than the bus. i made it from the airport to the meeting place in just 40minutes!! and i arrived just in time to meet the UTM representatives.

although it was raining all day, my day became better after the meeting.

after we said our goodbyes i went straight to Itaewon for my afternoon pray. There is where i met other fellow Malaysians. They were traveling for 8days, and we exchanged numbers just in case they needed help.

Then on the train on my way to the bus station, and old man almost made it to the exit door but missed it. he thought he could stop the door from closing using his umbrella, but the umbrella was too tiny it has no effect at all! still, his umbrella was stuck, he was struggling to take it out, no helped him, so i grab another end of the umbrella and managed to take it out from the door.

We exchanged smiles, and it was a good feeling having to help another,
especially when you were the foreigner (^^)

as i arrived at the bus station, i managed to get the 5pm bus, which was 30minutes from the moment i bought it. Usually this time i would be looking for something to eat, but since i was fasting, i wasn't tempted at all.

As i rode the bus it was raining heavily all the way, but the rain already stopped once i arrived at my campus at 7pm.

i bought a Kimbab to break my fasting.

then in my room after 2hours i fell asleep like a baby. it was so tiring.
but i had another awesome experience! (^^)

What 2012 meant to me

At the beginning of this year there was only one thing I was excited about, my first internship. It was located at Cyberjaya , and seeing that commuting back and forth to my parents home will be a big hassle there's only one thing I have to do. Rent out a place of my own. I know that within the western culture having to live in your own place after college is a big deal. Well, not so much for most Malaysians. In my opinion, having your own place would either mean you got a huge sack of cash hidden somewhere, or you have a stable job that provide you more sack of cash. In other words, people with a lot of cash. On my first day of my internship, my colleague offered me a room in their terrace. Apparently no one was using the room anyway so it only make sense for me to rent it. Plus I don't even have to worry about driving since we can carpool together. The room didn't come with a bed but one of them lent me an extra mattress she got from her old neighbour-friend that move

The Dormitory

This is what my dormitory looks like. It's almost like a real apartment. Quite small, but for a college student it's very comfortable, with a private bathroom. What I like about it is that it got all the basics that I need. They got self service washing machines, but for the dryer we have to pay 1 usd for each use. They also have a huge gym room, and a computer room you can use at any time. The microwave and the water dispenser is a plus.

Happy New Year Malaysia!!
